Dan is a Staff Sergeant serving our country with Operation Iraqi Freedom. His Army National Guard unit from Jackson, KY was deployed to Iraq in February. It is a one year deployment. Their unit does Military Police duties and Dan's main responsibilities include convoy security and checkpoint security. He is on the road most of the time, as they escort convoys of supply trucks to various other base camps in Iraq, typically working 14-18 hour days. Dan is a squad leader with 9 men under him. Please pray for his protection and also for witnessing opportunities with his men.

Dan and I have been married for 10 years. I keep busy with duties at home and raising our children here in Richmond, KY. We have a wonderful church family that have been so supportive during Dan's deployment. I have been involved in a home-based business for 7 years now where I teach how to use rubber stamps to create such items as cards and scrapbook pages. I am also active in our local MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group that I started 5 years ago here in our community. It is a great ministry to mothers with young children. Dan and I are both 1993 graduates of Mt. Carmel and we are thankful for how the school made a difference in our lives.

Our son Samuel will be 8 years old in July. He is currently in the 2nd grade at Bluegrass Christian School. Some of his favorite hobbies include baseball, reading and computer games. Our daughter Katelyn had her first birthday in March. She is a very happy, active little girl! One of her favorite things to do is look at family photos. She does a great job at keeping mommy very busy while big brother is at school.

Thanks to everyone who has prayed for Dan, written him a note or sent him a care package. We appreciate your support SO MUCH! His men are also very appreciative when Dan shares things with them from the care packages he gets. Some of his men rarely get any mail.
