On Saturday October 27, 2007, a happy group of 15 met for dinner in the beautiful historic town of Frankenmuth, Michigan.  These former students and spouses from Mt. Carmel came from Michigan and Indiana for an impromptu gathering “just because” of their friendship and common bond.  It was refreshing to hear stories and to realize that even the retired ones are still involved in some kind of ministry.  The legacy lives on!  God has been so good to allow us to keep in touch.  This network of loving Christians is testimony to the genuineness of lasting Godly relationships.

Back l to r: David Willett, Howard Clayton ’59, Barb (Fruth) Clayton ’59, Carol (Steward) Steinke ’59, Ray Bedtelyon ’59. Front l to r: JoAnn (Waugh) Willett ’62, Star (Escoto) Steward ’60, Karen (Zimmerman) Harlow ’59, Ruthann (Matthews) Roe ’58, Curt Daniels ’62, Boyd Roe.

The large dining room was noisy and crowded, but the food and service was terrific.  Homestyle meals of fried chicken, potatoes, gravy, dressing, veggies, warm breads and especially the hot buttered Hubbard squash were worth the drive!

I think this is a great tradition we’ve started here.  Next time, if we have 20 or more we will get a private room.  The tears of joy were indescribable as some like Karen and Barb greeted and hugged for the first time in about 46 years!  I believe this was just a little taste of heaven and the reunions in Kentucky.
