Joyce (Mahabir) Aulds '72  | After attending Morehead State University where I met and married my 1st husband, and had my first son, Wole, 30, we moved to Kalamazoo, MI where we lived with friends and then got jobs and moved into our own home. After 2 years, my husband was picking me up from work and a drunk driver hit us and killed my husband. It was one of the most devastating times in my life, but God's grace was greater than my need. I had a daughter (Tara-23) from my second marriage. I rededicated my life to Christ during the marriage. I had vowed I would never get married again (2 on my record was already sounding sorta....you know.) Well, I decided to take care of my kids and myself, so I joined the local gym. Bob, my current husband and I met there and it was instantly apparent that God brought us together. He is 15 years my junior, but now we've been married for 14 years and still going strong. | | Since then we adopted Laquan, 12, when he was a baby and I have a grandson, Caleb, 2, from my daughter Tara. I work at Pfizer (previously Pharmacia & Upjohn and Upjohn) as an Environmental Specialist. I've been here for almost 30 years and plan to retire next year!! God has been so good to me! I attend Kalamazoo 1st Church of the Nazarene. I am a board member, I teach Women’s Bible study, Sunday School class for adults. Also I sing in the praise team, work in the nursery and oversee the money counters (yippee!!!) I love reading books that make me think. Right now I am reading "Can Man Live Without God" by Ravi Zacharias. I am actually going to teach that in my Sunday school. I love Beth Moore and I'm hooked on doing her studies with our ladies. Praise God from whom all blessings flow. I would love to hear from others. |
