Dear Former Classmates,

I have been young and now am old but I well remember those happy days at Mt. Carmel High School.  My room was in "Miss Reed's Building. (That was what we called it. We had quite a laugh when our neighbors next door had a problem while preparing for room inspection ... where to put this delish pie?  Oh well, just stick it in the closet on the floor - she won't look in the closet No sooner said than done But wait.  After chapel and a couple classes ... up to the room ... the pie forgotten ... into the closet ... one foot in a pie ... ohno!!

Revivals were special with lives changed.  Mr. Swauger kept us laughing with his jokes; Mrs. Swauger kept us awake in study hall by tuning the piano; Miss McConnell cheered us up by tossing candy bars to all of us near the close of study hall.
One very vivid memory was the winter when the pond froze over and we girls from the north used our ice skates and had a wonderful time.  It was fun until Miss McConnell and Miss Swartwout borrowed our skates and joined in with us.  Miss Swartwout fell and landed on her knee and taught the rest of the semester from her bed.

Now the years have gone by and the buildings and staff have changed.  May it never be said that the message of salvation from all sin, forgiveness and heart cleansing has changed.

After graduating from KMBI in 1953, I married George Cole. We worked together as he pastored 3 different churches in Indiana. We were married 51 years until he went to be with the Lord in February 2005. We have 5 children and each of them attended Mt. Carmel and/or KMBI.
