 Peggy (Troutman) Forney '61

My name is Peggy (Troutman) Forney and I graduated from Mt. Carmel in 1961. I only spent 1 year at Mt. Carmel, was privileged to graduate from there. Looking at some of the pictures sure brings back memories. I married Ron Forney in 1963 and we have one son Chris. He has 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. They live about 20 miles from me so I get to see them most weekends.

After graduation I worked in a shoe factory for 5 1/2 yrs, until my son was born, then I became a stay-at-home mom. My husband was a truck driver, and as my son got older and started school I did cleaning jobs for people and helped take care of my grandmother. I also started to package items for a plant near my home and continue to do this still. About 4 years ago my husband (who had to go on disability because of a heart condition) started to do hauling for the Amish folk in our area - 1 family had a Christian bookstore. They were very busy at Christmas time filling orders, so I helped out and when they knew I had a computer, I was ask to do the invoices on the computer which led to another job for me to do in my home. They also have 4 publications, mostly related to the Amish, for which I keep records of the subscribers. As you can see I am not idle.

I have been very active in our church for the past 42 years, teaching Sunday School, Children's Church, Youth Leader, singing with different groups, and playing a saxophone in the church orchestra. God has been a part of my life all these years.

This past year (2005) has been an especially difficult one. In February we buried my mother-in-law and 2 weeks later my husband was taken to the hospital with a foot infection. I could write a book about the next 5 1/2 month, but suffice it to say he came home only to return later for 6 more weeks. 2 weeks after he came home he went to be with the Lord. We were married 42 years, and I miss him greatly, but God's grace is sufficient and this parting in only temporary. The jobs I do in my home are a God-send as they keep me busy.

I am delighted to hear from all and any classmates, and you may add my e-mail to your database.
